My name is Tony Lenderyou and yes, it is my real name!

In 1983, I started my career in mortgages. In 1987, I joined the Leeds Permanent Building Society in Newcastle. I attained my first appointment as a Branch Manager at Whitehaven Branch in 1990 and was promoted to Hartlepool in 1991. Following the Leeds merger with the Halifax I decided that the new regime was not for me and armed with a voluntary redundancy package went off to look for pastures new.

A short time with a mortgage packager was followed by my appointment as Business Development Manager with the Newcastle based Universal Building Society in 1997.

Leaving Universal in 2003 to set up on my own was a tough decision but I am convinced the right one. I get great job satisfaction from being able to provide others the support they need when making, what is likely to be, their biggest financial commitment.

So as you can see I have over 30 years experience of mortgages within the financial services industry, the past 14 of which have been spent running my own business here at TL Mortgages.

I live locally and very much enjoy all that the North East has to offer. I relax by spending time in the countryside. I also love to play golf (badly), and have just become President of Ponteland Rugby Club where I have been involved as a volunteer and committee member for over 13 years.

My name is Phoebe Lenderyou, proud daughter of Tony!

In 2017 I had my first insight into the Mortgage Industry, as an administrative assistant. I quickly found that the process of finding and buying a home is one of the most important aspirations for people in this day and age, and I loved seeing the joy people feel once the process is complete. I have always looked up to Tony, and was excited at the prospect of joining the family business. I completed my CeMAP qualification in 2021, and became an officially authorised advisor.

A little bit about me prior to mortgages...

I grew up with a dream of becoming a professional swimmer. At age 14 I was selected to compete for Great Britain in my first international competition and I was dedicated, competitive and very determined. I had an amazing swimming career, where I was lucky enough to Study at Plymouth College boarding school on a sports scholarship, compete all over the world for my country, and Study on a full Scholarship in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada at Dalhousie University. In 2015 I had started my studies and stayed in Canada for three years, when I decided to move back to the UK, in hope of qualifying for the Commonwealth Games in 2018. Sadly, missing out on the team and suffering injury, I decided to hang up my goggles and resume my degree, where I transferred to Northumbria University to study Business with Marketing Management, where I achieved a 2:1 in 2020.

I am enthusiastic and excited to bring a fresh pair of eyes to the business, where I will be utilising my knowledge in all areas of business management, marketing, and mortgage advice to the very best of my ability!

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on a loan or mortgage secured on it. You may have to pay an early repayment charge to your existing lender if you remortgage. Think carefully before securing other debts against your home.
